DelBene Statement National Security Legislation

Bill will provide much-needed support to U.S. allies, additional humanitarian assistance

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) issued the following statement after voting for the House’s bipartisan national security funding bill:

“At long last, the House finally broke through extreme Republicans’ blockade on America’s national security and humanitarian objectives. Our allies continue to face rising threats & our inaction only emboldens Putin & other authoritarians around the globe. This package empowers our allies to stand up against these threats by providing new defense equipment and economic support. It also provides critical humanitarian assistance to innocent civilians caught in conflict in Gaza and around the world.

“The House spoke with a decisive voice today against MAGA extremism and in support of our own national security. The Senate must now immediately take up this legislation. Our allies cannot wait any longer.”
