We’re now in week two of the Republican-led shutdown, and families are paying the price. Nearly 80,000 federal workers in Washington state are receiving their last partial paycheck, and our troops will miss their first paycheck next week.

Instead of ending the shutdown, Republicans are refusing to return to DC to find a way to extend the enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits that help families and small businesses afford health coverage. Cutting these tax credits would mean people will lose access to care and costs will increase for everyone.

I’m fighting to reopen the government, make sure workers are paid, and protect affordable health care.
