Dear friend,
House Republicans are once again threatening to shut down the government at the end of the month unless they can impose some of the most radical elements of their Project 2025 in a temporary federal funding bill. Their plan would also hurt hardworking American families who count on critical services, harm our military readiness, and deprive veterans of the health care they need.
One thing has been true this entire Congress - the only way to avoid a government shutdown is through a bipartisan agreement that can get through the House and Senate and be signed by President Biden.
I will continue to work towards a solution with my colleagues across the aisle who are ready to govern. It is still my hope that we can reach an agreement that avoids a harmful and expensive government shutdown.
