TRADE WARS RAISE PRICES

Dear Friend,

This week, President Trump once again escalated his trade war against Canada and some of our closest trading partners. As a result, we are seeing retaliation against our farmers and businesses and prices increases on goods we buy every day. I recently heard from a local small business owner who is worried he’ll be “tariffed out of business” and a worker who is concerned for his job due specifically to the higher tariffs on Canadian aluminum. Congress must have a vote on these sweeping tariff proposals that impact our communities. Unfortunately, this week House Republicans voted to hand over our authority to the White House rather than stand up for you. I’m going to keep fighting for policies that support our communities, bring down costs and build a strong economy.
