It’s been another great week at home, meeting with local officials, delivering federal investments to improve our communities, and celebrating with you.

Vietnam War Veterans Pinning Ceremony

It was an honor to pin Washington’s veterans with the Vietnam War Commemoration at the Northshore Senior Center in Bothell. I’m deeply grateful for the chance to thank these heroes in person and hear their incredible stories.

Eastside Energy Heat Pumps Tour

I joined Energy Smart Eastside in Kirkland to highlight how families and businesses can cut their monthly energy bills and lower carbon emissions with state and federally subsidized heat pumps. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, you can benefit from federal discounts of up to $2,000 a year in 2024 and an additional rebate of 8,000 starting next year for eligible families. $960,000 for Chinook Marsh Restoration Project

I visited Chinook Marsh in Marysville to deliver $960,000 in federal funding for Snohomish County’s habitat restoration efforts. These resources will help protect critical wildlife habitats, improve flood control, and restore recreational areas for everyone in our community.

Siemens Energy Grand Opening

I attended the grand opening of Siemens Energy’s new facility in Redmond. This move will help them develop clean energy technology, creating local jobs and supporting our region’s push towards a greener future.

$963,000 for Bellevue Police Body Cams Program

AI joined City of Bellevue staff and officers to deliver $963,000 in federal funding for the police department’s body-worn camera program. This investment will improve transparency and strengthen trust between law enforcement and residents, leading to safer streets and more accountable policing.

India Day Celebration

I was honored to join the celebration of India’s 78th Independence Day at Bellevue’s first-ever India Day celebration. It was a wonderful occasion to honor India’s independence and Indian Americans’ contributions to our communities.

Congressional Award Presentation

I was honored to present Anisha from Kirkland with the Congressional Gold and Silver Medals for her outstanding accomplishments. Anisha has volunteered with a teen mental health organization and a local animal shelter, while teaching cybersecurity and coding. She’s also excelled in ancient Greek, yoga, badminton, and plays the French horn. Congratulations, Anisha!
