Only a Week Left for Republicans to Fix Their Health Care Crisis

Dear Friend,

Washington has been hit hard by the recent catastrophic river flooding in communities across the state. My office and I are in close contact with federal and local officials as they assess damage and support families who continue to be impacted. I joined our state’s entire congressional delegation urging President Trump to approve an Emergency Declaration for this disaster.

This is also a critical time in Congress, as House Republicans have just one week left to act on expiring Affordable Care Act tax credits. A failure to extend them would double or even triple premiums for millions of families. Over the past 15 years, Republicans in Congress have failed to put forward a single comprehensive proposal to lower health care costs or increase coverage. To ensure families are not priced out of their coverage next year, we must extend the ACA tax credits and work together with a shared goal of affordable, quality health care for all Americans.
