Dear Friend,
Americans deserve the right to decide if, when, and how to grow their families, and IVF has helped millions of Americans in that process. However, a recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling has threatened access to IVF, leaving many to wonder about potential legal repercussions of accessing this care and forcing clinics across the state to suspend critical IVF services.
This decision is the latest in anti-abortion extremists’ ongoing attempts to chip away at reproductive freedom. It was never going to stop at overturning Roe v. Wade. They will keep pushing until they can pass a nationwide abortion ban that limits access to reproductive health care services, including IVF services, even in states like Washington.
This week, I stood with my Democratic Women’s Caucus colleagues in demanding Congress to pass the Access to Family Building Act, legislation that protects IVF and reproductive health care.
