Dear Friend,
We’re in the third week of the Republican shutdown, and families, federal workers, and small businesses across Washington are feeling the strain. Nearly 80,000 federal workers in our state are missing paychecks, and essential services and programs are at risk — all because Republicans refuse to come to the table. Instead of doing their jobs and negotiating to reopen the government, Republicans have been on a three-week vacation.
I sat down in D.C. earlier this week with Congresswoman Emily Randall to talk about how this shutdown is impacting Washingtonians. Democrats are ready to work to reopen the government, protect health care, and make life more affordable for families.
