This week, I worked through the night on an 18-hour markup in the House Ways & Means Committee. We were debating the Republican Budget plan that will eliminate health coverage for nearly 14 million Americans to pay for more tax breaks for the wealthy. During the markup, I fought to make changes to the bill that would support families, like restoring the expanded child tax credit, lowering the cost of child care, and keeping health care premiums affordable. Republicans rejected every one of these efforts.
This bill will result in you paying more for your health care, energy bills, and groceries. Watch me share how this legislation will hurt Washington families below.
