COngress needs to put families first

Dear Friend,

This week, I joined advocates and colleagues for a rally hosted by Families Over Billionaires outside the U.S. Capitol to send a clear message: we must build an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

Too many families are struggling with the rising costs of housing, child care, food, and health care. That’s why it’s incomprehensible that Congressional Republicans are trying to give another massive tax cut to the wealthy and large corporations.

They plan to pay for this giveaway by slashing Medicaid, cutting SNAP food assistance, and eliminating programs that support our veterans and help families keep roofs over their heads. They’re also working to dismantle the Social Security Administration, so it will be harder for seniors to get their monthly checks or get someone on the phone.

I am hearing from many constituents across WA-01 who rely on these services including, someone who relies on Apple Health to cover their life-saving cancer medication, a disabled veteran and VA employee who is nervous about accessing health care, and a single mom who uses federal nutrition programs to put food on the table for her kids. I appreciate you sharing these stories because they remind us of what’s at stake in our community. You can share how the Trump administration has impacted you below.

We cannot allow Republicans to eliminate the programs and services that our community depends on. That's why I'm pushing for policies that put families first including bringing back monthly Child Tax Credit checks, building more affordable housing, and making health care and child care more affordable and accessible.

Thank you for being part of this fight. If you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my District Office at (425) 485-0085 or delbene.house.gov. For more updates on future events and what I’m doing for WA-01, you can follow me on social media at the links above.

Take care,

Suzan
