Suzan Shows Up in WA-01: February 14- February 23

Dear Friend,

It has been another busy week as my team and I attended events and met with leaders and members of the community from across Washington’s 1st district to discuss how we can work together to address issues affecting our region.

Valentines for Vets

On Valentine’s Day, my team joined students from Hilltop Elementary crafting Valentines Day cards for veterans. These cards were delivered to veterans in Bothell to thank them for their service to our country.

Redmond High School SNAP Meeting

I met with Redmond High School students to discuss the importance of strengthening SNAP, which helps nearly 875,000 Washington families put food on the table. I will continue working to protect and expand this program and others that families rely on.

Westend LIHTC Tour

DelBene meets with Kirkland Mayor Kelli Curtis

I toured the Westend Apartments in Marysville to see the impact the Housing Credit is making in our community. I am working to expand this program to create more affordable homes nationwide. The House recently passed bipartisan legislation to expand the credit based on a bill I introduced. I am urging the Senate to swiftly take up the tax package.

Lake Stevens High School Meeting

It was a pleasure to meet with faculty and students at Lake Stevens High School. It is inspiring to see our future leaders eager to learn more about how our government works. I am excited to see all the incredible things they will accomplish!

I hope to see you soon at upcoming meetings, events, and activities across the district as we continue working to move WA-01 forward.
