How I’m Working to Lower Your Prescription Drug Costs Dear friend,   I'm working to make health care more affordable and accessible for Washington families and seniors. I want you to have peace of mind knowing that a medical emergency or trip to the doctor’s office won't break the bank. I was a strong supporter of the Inflation Reduction Act and the law is already delivering for families but there’s more to come. Starting next year, over 340,000 seniors in Washington will start saving an average of over $400 a year on their prescription drug costs. This is because of a new $2,000 annual out-of-pocket cap on prescription drugs that will go into effect from the law. That will build on the $35 per month cap on insulin, free vaccines, and a rebate that drug companies must pay if they raise the price of drugs more than inflation under the Medicare program. Medicare has also begun negotiating for lower prescription drug costs for the first time on popular medications meaning additional savings will be coming.

How I’m Working to Lower Your Prescription Drug Costs

Dear friend,

I'm working to make health care more affordable and accessible for Washington families and seniors.

Washingtonians will save on health care, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act

While this is great progress, we can go further. I'll continue pushing for Congress to make some of these benefits permanent for all Americans, not just Medicare beneficiaries, and enact other reforms to bring health care costs under control.
