Dear friend,
This week, House Republicans passed a budget that undermines Washington families and communities. Their plan would cut an estimated $20 billion from Apple Health, which covers over one-in-five Washingtonians. It would also cut funding for nutrition assistance, education, and school meals all to pay for a $4.5 trillion tax cut for the wealthy and well-connected.
A budget is a statement of values, and I believe we must focus on lowering costs for working families. The House Republican budget plan would raise health care and food costs for Washingtonians and that’s why I voted against it.
