Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act that I supported, new benefits will take effect starting in January for Medicare patients to help save costs:
- Capping out-of-pocket prescription drug costs at $2,000 per year.
- The option to spread prescription costs over the whole year through the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan. You must sign up for this voluntary option by visiting Medicare.gov/prescription-payment-plan or contacting your Medicare Part D provider.
This is on top of the savings already in effect because of the law:
- Insulin capped at $35 a month.
- Free vaccines, including shingles, COVID-19, and other common shots.
I encourage you to look at these new cost-saving benefits. The enrollment period runs from October 15 to December 7, 2024, giving you time to find the health care plan that works best for you. Washingtonians can find more information about these benefits and how to enroll here.
Additionally, individual health coverage through the Washington Health Plan Finder will begin on November 1.
I will continue fighting to expand these benefits to all Washingtonians to ensure everyone in our state can afford the health care they need.
If you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my Kirkland office at (425) 485-0085 or delbene.house.gov. For more updates on what I’m doing for WA-01, you can follow me on social media at the links above.
