This week, Speaker Johnson and House Republicans rejected a bipartisan deal to fund non-controversial Homeland Security agencies and voted to continue the shutdown. The deal, which was passed unanimously by the Senate, would fund TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard while we continue to push for the reforms at ICE that the American people are demanding. TSA workers have been forced to work for six weeks uncertain when their next paycheck would come.

Democrats are fighting for basic safeguards to protect Americans’ lives and liberties from the violence ICE is committing in our communities, including requiring judicial warrants, no more masks, and mandating body cameras.
