Dear Friend,

I spent the week listening and working with members of our community about the challenges they are facing, and how I can best advocate for them in Congress. These conversations guide my work to grow our economy, lower costs, and protect health care.

Making WA-01 Safer & More Affordable

One of my most important responsibilities as a member of Congress is to deliver federal funding for our community. This week I had the pleasure of delivering $500,000 to City of Bellevue for their Lake Lines project to improve the sewer system along Lake Washington and $850,000 for the City of Mountlake Terrace to repair their daytime heating and cooling center.

Listening to Our Farmers

I met with Snohomish County farmers at Bob’s Corn & Pumpkin Farm to discuss disaster preparedness, workforce challenges, land use policies, and infrastructure funding.

I also delivered $5 million for the Snohomish County Food & Farming Center, which will support farmers in our community.

Bracing for Republican Health Care Cuts

Medicaid work requirements from Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill take full effect early next year. Over 350,000 Washingtonians are expected to lose their Apple Health coverage. I brought together Apple Health patients and providers at the Together Center in Redmond to discuss how damaging these cuts will be to our community.

Celebrating the Anniversary of Social Security

I held a seniors’ community forum at North Bellevue Community Center. We discussed affordability concerns, health care, and how my team can help with federal agencies. We also celebrated the 91^st anniversary of the Social Security Act!

Volunteering in Our Community

Arlington Food Bank Mobile Market does critical work, serving those in need and delivering meals across the community. Great to get to work and join them for a volunteer shift this week!
