Dear Friend,
I’ve been fighting tirelessly to lower costs for families across the country. That’s what the historic Inflation Reduction Act, which passed last fall with my support, was all about. The law delivers much-needed relief for seniors by capping Medicare beneficiaries’ out-of-pocket insulin costs at $35 per month.
This means that over 28,000 Washington seniors on Medicare can save nearly $17 million this year on insulin, an average of $603 per beneficiary in savings. Many will no longer be put in the terrible position of having to ration their insulin or choose between paying rent and affording lifesaving medication.
The insulin provision went into effect at the start of 2023. You should automatically see these savings, but you can find information here.
I’ll continue fighting until every American who needs insulin is able to afford it.
