More Drug Price Savings on the Way for Washington Seniors

Dear Friend,

This week, the Biden administration selected 15 additional prescription drugs for Medicare price negotiations. This is on top of the 10 drugs announced last year. These historic negotiations were made possible by Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act.

I regularly hear from Medicare patients in our community who are frustrated by the price they are paying at the pharmacy counter. These negotiations will help provide relief on some of the most used drugs that treat diseases like cancer, diabetes, and asthma.

The Inflation Reduction Act is lowering costs in other ways as well. This includes a $35 monthly cap on insulin, a new $2,000 annual cap on out-of-pocket prescription drugs, free vaccines for seniors, and reduced health insurance premiums for Affordable Care Act plans.

I know costs are a top concern for many families. That’s why I will remain focused on reducing prices for seniors and families moving forward.
