Dear Friend,
This week, gas prices skyrocketed in Washington and across the country. Due to the war with Iran, key sources of oil have been blocked, and oil prices jumped to over $100 a barrel, the highest cost per barrel since 2022.
Hardworking Washingtonians are now paying $4.76 for a gallon of gas on average according to data from AAA. This increase is a direct result of Trump’s war in Iran, with the average price per gallon rising more than 26 cents in a week in Washington. In our community, families in Snohomish County are paying $4.79 per gallon on average, and families in King County are paying $5.00 per gallon on average.
Families were already struggling with high food and energy costs. The war will continue to have a significant impact on costs, and I will make sure to keep you updated on the latest developments.
