Dear Friend,
In the middle of the night last week, Republicans tried to extend a government surveillance program that allows the federal government to collect information about American citizens without a warrant.
I’ve long been concerned about this program and have pushed for reforms to protect your privacy and civil liberties. Currently, the government can collect your information without a warrant when it’s surveilling foreign nationals.
A bipartisan group in the House said enough was enough and gave Speaker Johnson until April 30 to work out reforms that address our concerns.
Check out my video last week after the vote.
