DelBene Submits 15 Community Projects for Dedicated FY23 Funding Totaling Over $28M

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) announced the submission of 15 community projects in Washington’s 1st Congressional District to be considered for dedicated Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) funding. The projects, totaling over $28 million, include regional trail and roadway improvements, health and wellness centers, green job training, emergency services, and wastewater and sewer infrastructure projects.

“These projects will help strengthen essential services in our communities by building new health and wellness centers, expanding transportation options for low-income and senior Washingtonians, improving emergency coordination and wastewater infrastructure, providing green job training, and connecting our communities with locally grown food,” said DelBene. “After a rigorous vetting process, I am submitting these 15 projects for dedicated FY23 funding consideration to provide our communities with resources and opportunity.”

The 15 community projects span the 1st Congressional District and include:

  • Over $7 million for projects in King County
  • Over $14 million for projects in Snohomish County
  • $6.5 million for projects in Whatcom County

The projects submitted include:

Eligible non-profit organizations, state, local, and Tribal entities were eligible to submit projects for consideration. All requests were submitted to the House Appropriations Committee in collaboration with project sponsors.

DelBene secured over $7 million for projects in the FY22 government funding law.
