DelBene Announces WA-01 Winner of 2024 Congressional App Challenge
Washington, D.C.,
December 5, 2024
Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) announced Read Buddy for Neurodivergent, created by Isabella and Nathan Guan from Kirkland, as the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge from Washington’s 1st Congressional District. Read Buddy is a reading assistant tool designed to support neurodivergent people with reading comprehension support while minimizing distractions. Read Buddy scans printed text and converts it into a digital format. This creates an interactive reading experience to foster comprehension and focus. A demo of Read Buddy can be found here. The winning app was selected by a panel of impartial judges from our community. Read Buddy will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year, along with winning apps from other congressional districts. DelBene was a Co-chair of the Congressional App Challenge during the 116th Congress. More about the Congressional App Challenge can be found here. |
