BOTHELL – Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) today visited a local VA hospital to drop off hundreds of valentines made by First District students. Valentines for Veterans is a program that encourages the community to recognize veterans throughout the year. See photos attached.

“The Valentines for Veterans program is a wonderful opportunity for our local students to make a connection with a veteran and thank these brave men and women for their service,” DelBene said. “We should all show our appreciation for those who served our country in uniform this Valentine’s Day.”

Students from Machias Elementary in Snohomish, Maywood Hills Elementary School in Bothell, Moorlands Elementary in Kenmore and East Ridge Elementary in Woodinville made the valentines DelBene dropped off at VA Puget Sound Health Care. Earlier this week, members of DelBene’s Veterans Advisory Board visited the local schools to encourage students to make the valentines and explain what it means to be a veteran.
