Concrete gets $1M for new safety building

CONCRETE — After years of local efforts to get the town of Concrete’s public safety building repaired or replaced, federal, state and local officials met Monday at Town Hall to announce a breakthrough in funding.

State Department of Commerce Director Brian Bonlender presented the town with a $1 million check from the federal Community Development Block Grant program.

U.S. Rep. Suzan DelBene, D-Wash., and state Sen. Kirk Pearson, R-Monroe, announced the availability of the money alongside new Concrete Mayor Jason Miller and former Mayor Judd Wilson.
