Washington First Congressional District Rep. Suzan DelBene shared specifics behind her Birth Control Privacy Act at the Capitol Hill Planned Parenthood on Thursday morning.

The legislation would close a loophole that allows employers to access medical information about employees through third-party workplace wellness programs not currently restricted by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

DelBene said she was motivated to introduce this legislation after reading about the loophole in the Wall Street Journal.
