Washington's six Democratic House members, as well as the state's two senators, joined Wednesday's floor occupation demanding votes on legislation that would bar people on the government's terrorism watch lists from buying guns. The occupation was political theater. Republican rulers adjourned the House and ordered C-SPAN cameras turned off, which only turned more public attention to the 120 or so Democrats occupying the floor. |
