Suzan Shows Up For Innovation
Washington, D.C.,
August 14, 2019
Dear friend, Last week, I met with groups and organizations to discuss innovation and other topics that are affecting us here in Washington’s first district. I was excited to see how hard our communities have been working to innovate and improve various areas of our lives. I spoke with the Eastside Police Chiefs about innovative technologies like facial recognition, radar communications systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that would aid in law enforcement modernization. I visited Alpha Technologies to see for myself the incredible advancements they have made in the telecommunications sector. I got to see the electric, and more environmentally friendly motors that magniX in Redmond is building for airplanes, as well as the bright young people getting involved in STEM at DigiPen’s coding camps. At Carnation Farms I met with the youth participating in the Rooted program, where they have access to hands-on learning about farm economics, sustainable practices, nutrition, and more. These are just a few examples of the hard work I have seen throughout our region. On Saturday, I held the second town hall of my #SuzanShowsUp tour in Lake Stevens. I appreciated the questions that people brought up, our productive conversation, and everyone who was able to attend. I look forward to the rest of this year’s August district work period and hearing from all of you. As always, I am here to help you. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my Bothell office at (425) 485-0085.
