Our seniors deserve the best medical care available, and I am working hard to ensure they have access to the life-saving treatments they deserve. This week I introduced the Ensuring Patient Access to Critical Breakthroughs Act of 2019, which would give seniors greater access to cutting-edge treatments and devices. 

Currently, it can take up to three years for Medicare to approve coverage of breakthrough products once they are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). My bill would make sure that all products given ‘breakthrough’ status by the FDA are covered as soon as they are FDA-approved, allowing seniors to get the care they need as soon as possible.
