Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) issued the following statement after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appointed her to the bipartisan conference committee for the America COMPETES Act tasked with reaching a final agreement on the innovation legislation with the Senate.

“It’s an honor to be appointed by Speaker Pelosi to this critical conference committee. This important bill will help create good-paying American jobs, make sure the U.S. remains a global technology leader in the 21^st century, modernize supply chains, and tackle inflationary pressures.

“Reaching a compromise between the House and Senate on this legislation is a top priority of mine and the New Democrat Coalition that I lead. Our caucus has been an active leader from the beginning of this process and I’m eager to see it all the way through to President Biden’s desk.”
