Enough is enough.

Dear friend,

Nothing will change if Congress doesn’t act on gun violence. Today, I demanded action for our children, our families, and our communities on the House floor. After Uvalde, after Buffalo, and after the over 240 mass shootings this year, we need to get commonsense gun reform legislation to President Biden’s desk now.

The House passed the Protecting Our Kids Act (H.R. 7910) today and will consider the Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order Act (H.R. 2377) later this week to help end the senseless cycle of gun violence. These two bills, both of which I cosponsored, would reduce gun violence by:

  • Establishing a federal extreme risk protection order and encouraging state and local governments to enact their own
  • Increasing the legal age to buy semi-automatic weapons to 21
  • Outlawing bump stocks and high-capacity magazines
  • Closing the ghost gun loophole
  • Promoting safe gun storage

We know what we must do to prevent future tragedies: The commonsense gun safety policies that are in these bills. I will continue fighting for our communities and for comprehensive gun safety reform.

As always, I am here to help you. If you need assistance at this difficult time, please don’t hesitate to leave a message at my Kirkland office at (425) 485-0085. For more updates on what I’m doing for WA-01, you can follow me on social media at the links above.
