Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the following statement on the Biden administration-negotiated agreement to release hostages held by Hamas and temporarily pause fighting in Gaza.

“I commend President Biden’s leadership in successfully negotiating a temporary ceasefire agreement with Israel and Hamas that should free at least 50 hostages, including Americans. All of the hostages have faced a horrific ordeal since their capture, and I strongly support the Biden administration’s commitment to freeing every one of them.

“Hamas’ brutal terrorist attacks and the ensuing war have tragically resulted in the deaths of many innocent lives and the suffering of countless more. This agreement will allow much-needed humanitarian aid into Gaza in larger quantities and help protect civilians.”
