Youth Advisory Council

Congresswoman Suzan DelBene’s Youth Advisory Council is designed for high school students who are interested in their community, government, and making a difference. Members of the council have the chance to share their ideas and perspectives on important issues with Congresswoman DelBene and her team.

As a member of the Youth Advisory Council, students will:

  • Meet with and learn from Congresswoman DelBene and her staff.

  • Explore how a Congressional office works behind the scenes.

  • Discuss current events, policies, and community issues with other students.

  • Help create recommendations and ideas to share with Congresswoman DelBene

The Youth Advisory Council will include up to 10 volunteer high school students, serving a one-year term during the school year, from September through May. There will be no meeting in December because of the holiday break.

Meetings will take place once a month and will alternate between in-person and hybrid formats. Exact meeting dates will be shared after members are selected.

All current high school students living in Washington’s First Congressional District (WA-01) are welcome to apply and eligible to serve on the Youth Advisory Council.  Applications are now closed for the 2026-27 academic year.
