Dear Friend,
Earlier this week, I spoke on the House floor to celebrate National Farm to School Month which aims to promote locally grown foods in our schools and educate kids about the benefits of choosing healthy foods and living a healthy lifestyle.
I’m working to ensure nutritious, local food is available for our students, which we know is proven to help them pay attention in class and learn. It’s also important to educate young children about where their food comes from. This information allows them to become passionate and connected to their food choices, and helps introduce healthy habits early on.
It’s an honor to represent the local farmers and bright young people of Washington’s First Congressional District. As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, I will keep pushing for better access to nutritious foods and information for all our students.
As always, my office is here to serve you. If you have questions or comments about the topics that matter most to you, I encourage you to contact me through my website. You may also keep up-to-date on what I’m doing by following me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. If you need assistance dealing with a federal agency, such as the IRS or the VA, please do not hesitate to contact my Bothell office at (425) 485-0085.
Sincerely,
Suzan
