DelBene Named to Three Ways and Means Subcommittees

Select Revenue Measures, Trade, and Oversight

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene was named to the Select Revenue Measures, Trade, and Oversight subcommittees of the Ways and Means Committee for the 116th Congress. The Subcommittee on Trade has jurisdiction over international trade, including tariffs and trade agreements. The Select Revenue Measures subcommittee covers tax issues while the Oversight subcommittee ensures that laws covering the committee’s jurisdiction are being carried out properly.

“I am excited to be named to these important subcommittees,” said Rep. DelBene. “Each of them covers pressing issues that I am eager to tackle in the 116th Congress. I understand how important an equitable tax code is to all Americans as we work to expand our middle class.”

“Representing a state where 40 percent of jobs are dependent on trade, this subcommittee will oversee a sector of the economy particularly relevant to Washington State. Too many of our farmers, small businesses and entrepreneurs are hurting because of President Trump’s reckless trade and tariff policies. I will continue to push for measures that support workers and families, open up new markets, and encourage innovation. We have a lot of work to do, and I’m ready to get started in this new Congress.”

DelBene is Vice-Chair for Policy Coordination in the New Democrat Coalition. She represents Washington’s first congressional district.
