DelBene Secures Nearly $7 Million for WA-01 Community Projects in House Funding Bills

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) announced that she secured nearly $7 million in federal funding legislation for community projects in Washington’s 1st Congressional District. This week, the House Appropriations Committee marked up several of its annual funding bills that included projects submitted by DelBene. These projects include recreation and community centers, mental and behavioral health programs, and telehealth expansion in rural areas that will directly benefit Washington families and communities.

In April, DelBene submitted 10 projects to the committee for consideration. The committee included all of DelBene’s requests in its annual appropriations bills. The legislation must still be passed by the full House and Senate and be signed by the president.

Project submissions came directly from non-profit, city, county, Tribal, and state entities, and all requests submitted to the committee were done in collaboration with project sponsors.
