Since the pandemic began, poverty in the U.S. has risen sharply. We need proven solutions to tackle this crisis and help rebuild the middle class, which is why I am fighting for a plan that would give families up to $300 per month per child to help buy groceries, pay for rent, and afford other essentials. I am hopeful that my colleagues in Congress will include key provisions of my proposal in President Biden’s COVID-19 relief bill.
