Dear friend, This week, I met with President Biden to discuss how Democrats in Congress can get the bipartisan infrastructure deal and the Build Back Better Act across the finish line. Both these bills are historic in how they can deliver immediate and long-term support for workers, families, and our communities. It was a productive discussion and I thanked the president for his leadership. As the Chair of the New Democrat Coalition, I am working to get the votes in the House and Senate necessary to send strong legislation to President Biden’s desk that invests in helping build back our middle class better than before and puts us on the path towards long-term prosperity.
This includes continuing monthly Child Tax Credit payments, making health care more accessible and affordable, and tackling our climate crisis with bold investments in clean energy. You can hear more above and below about my conversation with the president.
Over the next few weeks, I will be working closely with President Biden, the Senate, and my colleagues in the House to pass this transformative legislation that would provide immediate and direct help to American families.
