Congress Passes Transformational Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill
Washington, D.C.,
November 5, 2021
Today, the House of Representatives passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (H.R. 3684) with the support of Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01). This bipartisan legislation makes critical investments in infrastructure across the country to address deteriorating roads and bridges, achieve universal broadband, modernize public transit, and tackle climate change. “Addressing our nation’s crumbling infrastructure and helping create good-paying union jobs is a top priority for Democrats and President Biden as we continue to recover from the pandemic and look towards the next 50 years,” said DelBene. “The bipartisan infrastructure bill is the largest investment in our infrastructure in U.S. history and a win for the American people. It will transform our communities, making them more equitable and better prepared to fight the climate crisis. This is a big step forward for the President’s Build Back Better agenda to provide a strong future for our families, communities, and our country.” The bill now heads to President Biden’s desk and is expected to be signed into law.
