Yesterday, the House passed the bipartisan infrastructure bill and sent it to the President’s desk.

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is the largest investment in infrastructure in U.S. history, and its passage is a major step forward in enacting the President’s Build Back Better agenda. This legislation will make critical and long-overdue investments in our nation’s infrastructure to address our deteriorating roads and bridges, expand access to affordable broadband, ease congestion in our ports, replace lead pipes, and modernize public transit. This law will not only help create millions of good-paying jobs, but it will also transform our communities, making them more equitable and resilient to climate change. Our state is expected to receive nearly $12 billion in direct funding alone. You can read more about the important investments in this bill here.

The bipartisan infrastructure bill is a once-in-a-generation package that will spur long-term economic growth, create good-paying jobs, and get families back to work. We also took an important step in preparing its partner bill, the Build Back Better Act, for passage in the near future.
