DelBene Announces Over $1B Headed to WA for Roads, Bridges from Historic Infrastructure Law

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) announced that Washington state will receive over $1 billion in fiscal year 2023 to strengthen the state’s roads and bridges from investments in the historic bipartisan infrastructure law that she supported.

The resources are divided between:

  • $916 million for highway and road improvements
  • $130 million for bridge repairs
  • $15 million for electric vehicle charging network expansion

This funding is a 25% increase from before the infrastructure law’s enactment nationally.

“Washington’s infrastructure, including our roads and bridges, have long been neglected,” said DelBene. “The bipartisan infrastructure law is a forward-looking, once-in-a-generation investment that one year in is already helping cut commute times, lower car repair costs, reduce pollution, and support good-paying, union jobs for decades to come.”

In total, the Biden administration is releasing $60 billion in funding from the law across the country.
