For Rep. Suzan DelBene, D-Medina, the Seahawks’ victory is sweet — and it will be a little sweeter when Democratic minority whip and Patriots fan Rep. Katherine Clark hands over the prize from their friendly Super Bowl wager: a basket of treats from Massachusetts.

It will join DelBene’s growing pile of wins: Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi bet on the 49ers; Pelosi ceded to DelBene with an armful of California chocolates and wine. California Rep. Dave Min bet on the Rams; DelBene is still waiting on Min to shell out some Southern California goods.

It’s lighthearted fun with fellow Congress members, DelBene told The Seattle Times, and a great way to support vendors based in their home districts. But DelBene isn’t stopping there.

DelBene is taking the Seahawks’ win to the U.S. House floor, too. The Democrat, joined by every U.S. representative for Washington state, introduced a congressional resolution on Tuesday “congratulating the Seattle Seahawks for winning Super Bowl LX and the 12th Man for their unwavering support.”

“Whereas, on February 8, 2026, the Seattle Seahawks defeated
the New England Patriots by a score of 29—13 to capture
their second Super Bowl title in franchise history,” the resolution states.

“Everyone can acknowledge the Seahawks’ dominating presence,” DelBene said with a laugh. DelBene watched the game in Santa Clara, Calif., she said, exuberantly recalling the team’s “incredible” defense.

The four-page resolution, whipped up by DelBene’s staff after Sunday’s win, offers some key play-by-plays from the match: “Whereas, the Seahawks scored a key offensive touchdown on a 16-yard pass to tight end AJ Barner following a Patriots fumble early in the fourth quarter,” the resolution reads.

“Whereas, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu returned an interception
45 yards for a touchdown, helping to seal the Seahawks’
victory,” the resolution goes on.

The resolution concludes that the House of Representatives congratulates the team “for their triumphant victory in Super Bowl LX and acknowledges the exceptional performances of players, coaches, and support staff.”

It’s unclear whether the Congress members representing Massachusetts would vote in favor of the resolution, or whether they are still recovering from Sunday’s loss.

But DelBene looks forward to Clark’s gifts from Massachusetts, which she described as a cherry on top her triumph. “We won, and she had to acknowledge it,” DelBene said.
