DelBene Statement on Approval of Trade Adjustment Assistance for Amgen Employees

Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) today released the following statement after the Department of Labor approved her petition for Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA): “I am pleased this vital assistance will be made available to all former Amgen employees in Bothell and Seattle,” DelBene said. “These hard-working men and women were displaced, and we should continue to make sure they are able to transition into new employment as soon as possible.” The Department of Labor’s decision allows all Amgen workers to apply for TAA, including long-term training and income support, and Alternative TAA, which substitutes training and support for a wage subsidy for workers older than 50. ### |
