DelBene Statement on Failed Senate Vote on Bipartisan Tax Package Vote

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) issued the following statement after the Senate voted down the House-passed bipartisan tax package: “Six months ago, the House did what many thought was impossible – passing a tax bill with overwhelming bipartisan support. The deal represents a compromise during a time when that is difficult to achieve. It would help everyday families, build more affordable housing, and incentivize innovation to help grow our economy. “Today’s vote in the Senate is an incredibly disappointing outcome for families that are struggling right now. I’m hopeful this isn’t the end of this story, and I’m committed to continue working to get this across the finish line.” DelBene voted in favor of the bipartisan tax package in the Ways & Means Committee and when it passed the House 357-70 in January 2024. |
